Blend
A blend is a combination of two or more coffees. These coffees can come from different countries, regions, farms, varieties, or processing methods.
The goal of a blend is to create a balanced and consistent flavour profile. Roasters often blend coffees to achieve the right body, sweetness, acidity, crema, and aftertaste — especially for espresso.
A good blend is not lower quality. It is a carefully designed recipe. For example, one coffee may bring sweetness and chocolate notes, another may add fruitiness, and another may improve body and crema. Together, they create a stable and enjoyable taste experience.
Blends are especially popular for espresso because they can offer consistency, balance, and a flavour profile that works well with milk-based drinks such as cappuccino, flat white, or latte.
