This is very trendy, but also controversial.
What it means: coffee is fermented together with fruit, spices, wine yeasts, botanicals, or other aromatic ingredients. For example: coffee fermented with passion fruit, cinnamon, orange, strawberry, or wine yeast.
This can produce very strong flavors, but some buyers consider it less “pure” because the flavor may come partly from added ingredients, not only from the coffee itself.
